Sugar crystals: this pastry shop, unanimously recognized as one of the best in Rome, has changed management, with the abandonment of the Master Pastry Chef Marco Rinella. It is therefore with no small concern that we prepared for the new test, as usual carried out in the early hours of the day to test yeasts and the coffee corner for breakfast.
In fact, our perplexities were immediately dispelled: thanks to a simple fragrant and well-honeycombed croissant, light and tasty at the same time, perhaps only a slightly damp thread, a feature shared with that stuffed with excellent custard, with the latter which made up for the small deficiency described. The choice is wide and also includes many very tasty mignons, particularly suitable for honoring an invitation by knocking with your feet.
In support of this proposal, a cafeteria corner that continues to convince: the coffee is in fact extracted to perfection and has a good complexity despite the easy drinking due to a barely mentioned acidity; the cappuccino is balanced in the milk-coffee ratio, characterized by a silky and justly thick foam.
Sugar Crystals: environment
The beautiful platform that houses some tables for on-site consumption, announces the restaurant played on a single room with blue walls, dominated by the long L-shaped counter, with the first part hosting mignon and cakes and at the bottom the coffee corner with yeasts; in the middle the cash desk in a position that is not the happiest as it clogs the spaces given the copious flow of customers.
Service: Competent and fast, nice and ready for advice and explanations.
