After the great participation in the first edition of the scholarship announced in memory and in honor of the young Giorgio Fazari the association "Prim'Olio - Saperi e Sapori di Calabria", announced the publication of the announcement for the second edition.
The initiative is open to students who have not completed the 29th year of age, have obtained a master's degree in technical-scientific disciplines within the regular duration of the course of study with an assessment of not less than 105 \ 110.
The works presented will deal with agriculture and olive growing in particular, crucial sectors both from a historical point of view but also from a cultural and above all economic point of view for our territory. In short, a very important resource for the territory that associations such as Prim'Olio set out to safeguard and enhance.
The commission is made up of prof. Maurizio Servili who chairs it, by the father of Giorgio Domenico Fazari, and by the directors: Giuseppe Zimbalatti, Domenico Fazio, Rocco Mafrica, Rosario Franco, Antonio Fazari, Rosario Milicia, Maurizio Pescari and Antonio Boschetti.
Among the novelties of this edition the participation of new partners who have embellished the already prestigious audience of the organizers of the call:
- Olearia San Giorgio;
- University of “Mediterranea” Studies of Reggio Calabria Department of Agriculture;
- National Academy of Olive and Oil;
- Natural Theater;
- Agricultural informant;
- Alfa Laval;
- Reggio Calabria Order of Agronomists and Foresters;
- Order of Food Technologists Basilicata and Calabria;
- Municipality of San Giorgio Morgeto.
The amount of the grant is € 2.000,00 (two thousand, 00) which will be donated to the proposing Association by Olearia San Giorgio, the family business of the late Giorgio Fazari.
Below is the Call for participation:
Art 1. Proposing party and financial endowment
The proponent who issues this announcement in order to obtain the scholarship best identified in the subject is the Prim'Olio Association, cf: 91015630808, based in Palmi (RC), at Via Isonzo n ° 6. The amount of this scholarship is € 2000,00 (two thousand, 00) assigned by the commission designated by the proposing Association. This amount will be donated to the proposing Association by Azienda Olearia San Giorgio, the family business of the late Giorgio Fazari.
Art 2. Subjects admitted to participate in this announcement for the achievement of the scholarship
Graduates from any university located in Italy who: 1. have not completed 29 years of age are admitted to adhere to this call for applications for the scholarship; 2. Have obtained a master's degree in technical and scientific disciplines within the regular duration of the study course. 3. Have graduated with a grade of not less than 105/110.
Art 3. How to join
The application for membership of the scholarship, addressed to the President of the Prim'Olio Association, drawn up on plain paper according to the model attached to this announcement, must be delivered, no later than 12.00 on 30 April 2021, by message by certified e-mail to the address: firstname.lastname@example.org In addition to the application form, the candidate must attach to the aforementioned model: • a copy of the thesis; • curriculum vitae; • valid identity document.
Art 4. Conditions relating to the material sent
The authorship of the works remains with the participants, who guarantee their originality and that they do not infringe the rights of third parties. The Prim'Olio Saperi e Sapori di Calabria association reserves the right to publish the documents on the communication and dissemination tools available also for cultural promotion purposes, having requested and obtained, by signing the application form, the authorization of the publication of the authors.
Art 5. Methods of Judgment
The subject of the evaluation will be the thesis work carried out during the degree. In the event of equal scores, the scholarship will be awarded to the youngest candidate. The thesis work must concern the olive, oil and elaiotechnical sector and must focus on one of the following areas: 1. Agriculture; 2. Pharmacy; 3. Biology; 4. Gastronomic Sciences; 5. Chemistry; 6. Medicine; 7. Engineering. The judgment of the commission is unquestionable, any incompatibilities will be removed within the same, which will judge and deliberate following the study of the individual thesis works by the competent individuals of the commission.
Art. 6 Method of assignment
Once the commission has chosen the work to be awarded, it will communicate its decision to the winner of the competition. The winner will be required to participate in the award ceremony which will take place on June 25, 2021, at the Department of Agriculture of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria. Different date or place will be communicated in time. The payment method deemed most congenial will be chosen in agreement with the winner
Art. 7 Composition and faculty of the evaluation commission

The commission has the right to contact external experts to ascertain the degree of quality, innovation and the specific contribution of the candidates, guaranteeing the utmost precision and technical accuracy in the judgment. The Commission has the right and reserves the right not to award the prize, if at its sole discretion no application presented will be deemed worthy. The same adhesion to the announcement implies the acceptance of these conditions and the recognition of the faculties provided by the commission. Adherence to the call implies the authorization to process the personal data contained in the curriculum vitae on the basis of art. 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 and art. 13 GDPR 679/16
