There is a corner of the countryside in the center of Milan and it's called Cascina Cuccagna: an oasis of encounter and aggregation in which good food becomes the common thread. A place in Milan he fully embraced the Cascina Cuccagna project, sharing the philosophy of this place at 360 degrees. The restaurant, in fact, serves dishes prepared with seasonal raw materials and quality ingredients from a hundred small Italian farms every day, following the principle of the true kilometer.

The offer varies between lunch and dinner: at noon you can choose between two menus and a limited selection of dishes, while for dinner you order only a la carte. For our visit we tried the "light menu" consisting of a taste of appetizer, a main course to choose between first and second course, water, coffee, cover and bread from the Grazioli bakery. The appetizer based on octopus in a pickled garden with almonds and cabbage was fresh and appetizing, followed by the mondeghili, typical Milanese meatballs, with turnip greens, also good but a little dry. Finally, the carrot cake with almond flour is excellent, light and tasty.

A place in Milan: environment

The restaurant is part of a marvelously restored eighteenth-century farmhouse, where, in addition to the restaurant, there are the bar, the guesthouse, the vegetable garden, three shops and a space dedicated to the producers who every Tuesday bring the their products. The environment is divided between bar and restaurant, with the first offering a wide range of breakfast products and the second consisting of a single large room overlooking the vegetable garden; in summer it is also possible to eat outside.

Service: Gentle but a little inexperienced and slow.
