With the Via Marmorata store, 5 offices become de The Gianfornaio in Rome, a bakery that, over the years, has been able to transform into a place where to have breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner or an aperitif.
For our guide we tried it for a sweet afternoon break, when a very convenient formula is active for those who love the tea ritual: at a cost of 7 euros, you have the opportunity to choose a cup of tea and access a buffet of sweets. To accompany our Moroccan tea (mint green tea), served at a slightly too high temperature which brought out the "hard" notes of the drink, we chose fragrant biscuits (one ginger and lemon and the other al spelled), a good tart covered with lemon cream, just a little too sweet, and a slice of plumcake with pine nuts and raisins.
During the hot season there is a risk of not finding this proposal, so a phone call is recommended.
The Gianfornaio: environment
Large and spacious, with many tables located in the various rooms and one in the basement suitable mostly for private events. The large counter that runs along the narrow side serves as a showcase for sweet and savory products, while at the entrance, during the "tea time", the buffet is set up.
Service: Courteous and quick enough.
